At that time, a heavy luxury tax applied in Italy to cars with a displacement exceeding 2 liters; therefore, Ferrari released a 2.0-liter version of the 308 GT4. Interesting fact: some 208s were later converted to the 3.0-liter specification, making original 208 motor cars even rarer.
